Community of practice on Socio-Emotional Learning

Global Schools Forum in collaboration with Labhya is launching a Community of Practice dedicated to Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL). This practitioner-led community will move from foundational design to advanced implementation through three action-oriented sprints. We will build a shared repository of effective frameworks and tools, address the critical human element of teacher enablement, and tackle the challenge of measuring impact while scaling with quality. Starting with Sprint 1: SEL Design & Engagement in January, we will focus on age-specific strategies from Early Childhood through Adolescence. Join us to move beyond theory, co-create practical resources, and align on the practices that truly build resilient, thriving learners. Be part of a community turning local SEL insights into collective, scalable impact.

You are invited to the inaugural session of Global Schools Forum’s Community of Practice for Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL) in Education. This first session, “CoP Kick-off & Norm Setting,” marks the beginning of a structured, collaborative journey. We will move from isolated practice to a shared, evidence-informed community, starting with the foundational principles of SEL design.

In this 90-minute session, we will:

Explore the Collective ‘Why’: We will share a synthesis of practitioner needs, highlighting common challenges and aspirations in SEL implementation.
Introduce a Foundational Framework: Experience our first model spotlight from Labhya Foundation, focusing on Universal SEL Design Principles and Prioritising Skills by Age Group.
Shape the Community: Contribute to setting our collaborative norms.

Our goal is to establish a trusting, practitioner-driven space where we can collectively design more effective and contextually relevant SEL approaches.

This invitation is for the first session only. Our Sprint 1: SEL Design & Engagement will consist of 4 sessions held every three weeks on Thursdays, building a shared knowledge based before advancing to implementation and measurement sprints.
