In the first roundtable, participants will focus on safeguarding and AI literacy, exploring how education organisations are beginning to encounter and engage with AI tools and what this means for protecting learners, educators, and school communities. The discussion will consider both the opportunities these technologies may offer and the risks that require careful consideration. The session is designed as a space for open discussion and shared reflection.
The discussion will focus on questions such as:
- Where are organisations currently encountering AI in their work?
- What safeguarding considerations arise when AI tools are used in teaching, learning, or overall organisational operations?
- What knowledge and skills do educators and students need to build AI literacy and engage with these technologies responsibly?
- What risks or safeguarding concerns should education leaders be aware of?
- How can organisations approach AI adoption in ways that strengthen equity and trust?
Participants will also have an opportunity to share experiences from their own organisations and exchange insights with peers navigating similar safeguarding questions. Insights from this discussion will help inform future workshops focused on safeguarding and AI literacy in education.
Who should join
This roundtable is designed for organisations and practitioners working across the education ecosystem in or with low- and middle-income countries.
We encourage participation from:
- All GSF Community members
- Education researchers and technical experts
