In this roundtable, the discussion will be focused on instructional design and teaching practice, exploring how education organisations are beginning to experiment with AI tools to support lesson planning, curriculum development, and learning experiences. The discussion will consider both the opportunities these technologies may offer for teachers and the practical challenges organisations may encounter when integrating AI into teaching and learning processes.

The session is designed as a space for open discussion and shared reflection.

The discussion will focus on questions such as:

  • Where are organisations currently encountering AI tools that support lesson planning, curriculum design, or classroom instruction?
  • How are educators beginning to use AI to develop or adapt teaching materials and learning activities?
  • What opportunities exist for AI to support teachers in planning lessons, differentiating instruction, or personalising learning experiences?
  • What challenges or limitations are organisations encountering when experimenting with AI in instructional design?
  • What questions or capacity gaps do organisations face when considering how AI might support teaching and learning?

Participants will also have an opportunity to share experiences from their own organisations and exchange insights with peers exploring similar approaches to AI in teaching and learning. Insights from this discussion will help inform a future workshop focused on AI and instructional design in education.

Who should join

This roundtable is designed for organisations and practitioners working across the education ecosystem in or with low- and middle-income countries.

We encourage participation from:

  • All GSF Community members
  • Education researchers and technical experts
  • Government representatives and policymakers
  • Funders and ecosystem partners

Participants who are currently exploring the use of AI in their organisations, or who are seeking to better understand its implications for education, will find the discussion particularly valuable.
