In this roundtable, participants will focus on assessment and feedback, exploring how education organisations are beginning to encounter and experiment with AI tools that support student assessment, progress monitoring, and feedback generation. The discussion will consider both the opportunities these technologies may offer for strengthening assessment practices and the risks that need careful consideration.
The discussion is designed as a reflective space and will focus on questions such as:
- Where are organisations currently encountering AI tools that support assessment or feedback?
- How might AI be used to support formative assessment, feedback generation, or monitoring student progress?
- What opportunities exist for AI to help teachers better understand learning gaps, use screening or tailor support for students?
- What risks or concerns should education leaders consider when using AI in assessment processes?
- How can organisations ensure that AI-supported assessment practices remain fair, transparent, and supportive of meaningful learning?
Participants will also have an opportunity to share experiences from their own organisations and exchange insights with peers navigating similar questions around AI and assessment. Insights from this discussion will help inform a future workshop focused on AI and assessment in education.
